Greater Garibaldi and Tillamook County
There's plenty to see and do after you get here......

From the famous Ghost Hole and Crab Harbor in Tillamook Bay to world class Salmon rivers and the Pacific Ocean....you can fish, crab or clam for whatever is in season. Fishing includes Salmon, Coho, Steelhead, Halibut, Tuna and Bottom Fishing. Three varieties of clams and Dungeness Crabs are found through out Tillamook Bay and this part of the Oregon Coast.

Deep Sea Charter or River Guide services; boat and equipment rentals; sea food sales and a public Boat Ramp are all just down the street in Garibaldi's Marina

Five rivers flow into the Tillamook Bay. At least two of these rivers, The Wilson and Kilchis, are considered world class Salmon fishing rivers. You can fish them on your own or hook up with one of many guide services in Tillamook County. On a trip recent visit to The Bayhouse at Garibaldi, a group called Team Salmon from Chris Heller, The All Around Angler did well during the Fall Chinook/King Salmon Run. You can read about their trip and the fishing at http://www.allaroundangler.com/fishreports.php

Crab off the pier or go clamming in the Bay at low tide around the pier or over towards the Ghost Hole.
Find a special hidden treasure. Shop Antiques and Thrift Stores to local food specialties. Start in Garibaldi then onto nearby Tillamook, Bay City and Rockaway. It may not seem like it sometimes, but this part of the Oregon Coast is, at times, a little less traveled. That treasure might be easier to find at a bargain price.
Annual events are scheduled year round through out Garibaldi and Tillamook County. Examples include:
Garibaldi Crab Races in March
Rockaway Kite Festival in May
Wheeler Crab Festival in June
Garibaldi Days in July
Nehalem Bay Winery Bluegrass BBQ in August
Moograss Bluegrass Festival in September

Plan a Day Trip...... explore some history.
Two lighthouses are within driving distance; find historic Museums; visit the
Tillamook Cheese factory; Ride the Steam train to Rockaway during the summer.
Maybe experience an awesome sunset.

Sandy Oregon Beaches are less than a 10 minute drive to Rockaway. Access to the beach in Rockaway is easy and parking is sometimes crowded, but available

If you're a hiker....you won't be disappointed. Several Hiking areas offer wildlife, panoramic views, wildflowers or maybe search for the legendary buried treasure on Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain.
Tillamook County is an often overlooked destination on the Oregon Coast. Come stay in the Bayhouse at Garibaldi and discover it for yourself.
